A registration can either be active or passive. When your registration is active, it means you receive offers, and it is relevant for you right now. If your registration is passive, you still want to be on the list but not receive offers. You still pay, even if you are passive, as long as there is a fee for the list you are registered on.
Note: On some lists, it is not possible to be active until the registered person is 18 years old.
