Learn more about your registrations

What is a registration

A registration is a sign-up to a list. It can be to an interest list or a waiting list. If you register on a list, it is because you want offers and news from that particular list.

A registration is personal, which means that the registration belongs to the person who is on the registration. Be aware not to confuse this with the name on your Waitly profile, as these two things are independent of each other. This is because you can have other people's registrations linked to your Waitly profile. For example, this can be useful if you have a child under 18 who needs to be registered, or if you are a couple looking for housing together and want the registrations gathered under one profile, etc. You can read more about having other people's registrations under your profile here: Can I have other people's registrations on my profile?

Overview of the registration window

When you log in to your Waitly profile, the first thing you will see is your registrations as shown in the red box below. In this example, there are two registrations on the profile "Demoforening - Relations list" and "Nordvest - Newsletter".

See explanation of red numbers below

  1. Position

Next to number 1 you see your position. In this example, the person is number 2 on the list out of the 4 registered people on the list in total.

Be aware that there can be multiple lists for the same property/association. Often, for example, there is both an internal list for residents in the property/association and an external list for people who want to live in the property/association but do not yet. To investigate this, you can click "Actions" next to the number three and then click "More about the list".

There are thus four lists for this property/association, and your registration is to the relations list, which has 2nd priority. You can also see here how many are passive and active right now on the different lists.

Some lists do not have position enabled. This can, for example, be interest lists where buyers/tenants are selected based on other things than seniority, i.e., how long you have been registered.

  2. Active/passive

Registrations can be either active or passive. Next to the total number in the picture, it can be seen that this registration is active. The only difference between active/passive is that you do not receive offers from passive registrations. You still pay to be on the list. This can be useful if, for example, you have registered a child who is not yet old enough to apply actively.

If you want to change the active/passive status of your registration, you must click "Actions" next to the red arrow and then select "Set as active"/"Set as passive".

Be aware that some lists may have rules about how old you must be to be active on the list. For example, you must be 18 years old to be active on selected lists.

  3. Housing preferences

The number three shows where you can set wishes/criteria for your registrations. This is done per registration under "Actions" as shown in the first picture, after which you must choose "Add wishes".

Here you have the opportunity to set minimum and maximum criteria for deposit, rent/price, rooms, and floor as shown in the red box. If you create housing preferences, there may be offers you will not receive because they do not fall within your criteria. Therefore, be cautious when using the function.

Next to the red arrow, you can read statistics about the association/property, if this is provided. It is not provided here in the example, as this is a test list.

Remember to finish by saving your changes with "Update wishes".

  4. End date

Next to the number four, an end date is seen. The end date means that the registration is automatically deleted on this date if it is not renewed before then. You can always move the end date with the button "New end date". This moves the date one year forward from the date you perform the renewal on.

End date is often enabled on free lists, where it is used to confirm that you still want to be on the list instead of an annual payment. You automatically receive an email when it is time to renew the end date, so you do not have to worry about forgetting it.

  5. Delete registration / cancel agreement

Next to the number five, you can delete your registration with the button "Delete registration". When you delete your registration, the payment agreement ends, and you will no longer be charged for the subscription. This also means that you lose your position and accrued seniority. Once you have completed the deletion, the registration will no longer appear on the list of your registrations, and you will receive a confirmation email about the cancellation.
