Announcements

How to receive announcements from Waitly

You receive announcements from the lists you are on through Waitly via email and your offer page. When a list you are on sends out a new announcement, you immediately receive an email with a link directly to the specific offer. Your offer will also always appear inside Waitly under your offer page.

View important information and details about the announcement

Once you have received the announcement via email or found it via your offer page, you can click into the announcement. Here you can see more details about the offer, e.g., key information such as price/rent, takeover date, deposit, size, etc. There will often also be attached documents and pictures in the announcement.

We always recommend that you familiarize yourself well with the material that the administrator has chosen to display in the announcement. If after reviewing the announcement you still have questions regarding it, please contact the announcement’s contact person if listed in the announcement. If no contact information is provided in the announcement, please contact the list’s administrator. Below is an example of what an announcement received from Waitly can look like.

See explanation of the red numbers below

  1. If images have been added to the announcement, they are shown here. You can click back and forth between the different images using the two arrows. By clicking on the individual images, you can see them in a larger size.
  2. Here you see the announcement’s title and the address, if it is a property being sold/rented in the announcement.
  3. The announcement’s description is shown here, written by the list’s administrator or the person responsible for the announcement.
  4. Here you can see the offer’s key information.
  5. At the bottom you can see the documents attached to the announcement. Click on the individual documents to download and open them so you can read the content.

The announcement timeline

All announcements have a timeline, which is important to take note of. The timeline indicates when the announcement’s deadlines are and thus also when you need to have made a decision about the announcement and registered your response. Below are examples of two types of timelines.
Some parts of the announcement may appear unclear or faded. This indicates that this part of the announcement has passed.

See explanation of the red numbers below

  1. Next to number 1 you can see when the announcement was sent out to the list’s subscribers.
  2. At the interest deadline, shown by number 2, you must respond whether you are interested in the announcement and whether you can attend a viewing.
If you have wished to attend a viewing, you will, when the interest deadline has passed, receive an email about whether you are invited to the viewing or not.
  3. At number 3 you can see the announcement’s viewings. For the first of the two example announcements, there are 3 viewings. For the second example announcement, there are no viewings.
  4. Before the deadline for "Final decision," you must respond whether you wish to rent/buy. Here you answer whether you are still interested in the announcement after the viewings are completed. It is only possible to register your final decision once all the viewings have finished.
  5. If there are no viewings for a given announcement, the timeline will only include "Start" and "Final decision," and you will therefore only need to respond once – before the deadline for "Final decision."

Respond to announcements

To register your interest response or your final decision for an announcement, you must first go into your offer either via the email where you received the offer or via your offer page under the relevant announcement.

Below is an example of how the page where you register your response looks.

See explanation of the red numbers below

  1. Next to number 1 you see the viewing dates and times for the announcement. Here you can choose whether you want to attend a viewing. Note that there may be a limited number of spots for the viewings. Your response here is therefore a request to attend the viewing and does not guarantee a place at the viewing.
  2. If you do not want to attend a viewing, you can next to number 2 choose that you are interested in the announcement but do not wish to attend a viewing.
  3. Some lists allow merging for residents of the list’s properties. If your property adjoins the property being sold in the announcement and the "Request merging" field is shown when you respond, you can check this box if you wish to request a merger. Note that this is a request, and the administrator can choose to reject the request.
  4. Some announcements also have a comment field as shown next to number 4. If you have anything else you want to add to your response, you can write this in the comment field. Occasionally, the announcement specifies that you should provide something specific when responding to the announcement. In such cases, the comment field can be used for this purpose.

Finally, remember to save your response by clicking "Save response." If you have already registered your response earlier but wish to change it, you should use "Change response" instead. In both cases, you will immediately receive a confirmation email that your response has been registered. This is your assurance that the response is recorded in Waitly. If you do not receive this email, please try to register the response again and otherwise contact Waitly support.

Your offer page

Your offer page is a consolidated overview of all the announcements you have received through your Waitly subscriptions. Here you can also see your responses, estimated placement for the announcement, an overview of the timeline and deadlines, etc.

The image below shows an example of an offer page. In the red boxes are the various offers that have been received on the Waitly profile. By scrolling down the page, all the offers that have been received on the Waitly profile can be seen.

You access your offer page by logging into Waitly and clicking on "Offers" shown next to the red arrow in the image below.

Check the announcement’s status and stay updated

During the course of announcements, you can stay updated regarding your placement for a given announcement, your responses, and announcement deadlines. This is where you should pay special attention if you want to stay informed about your chances of being offered to rent/buy when the announcement is concluded.

Announcement just sent out

Below is a picture of an announcement that has just been sent out.

The interest deadline has not yet been reached, and it can be seen by the yellow color and hourglass in the first red box that the person has not yet responded.

To open the offer, use the "View offer" button at the bottom of the offer overview, after which it is possible to see the announcement and register your response.

Completed announcement

Below is an example of an announcement that has been completed.

See explanation of the red numbers

  1. "Yes" was answered at the interest deadline and the person was preliminarily number 1 for the offer after the interest deadline.
  2. The person attended the viewing.
  3. At the final deadline, the person again answered "Yes." When the final deadline had passed, the person was preliminarily number 1 for the announcement.
  4. The administrator has sent the person an offer because they were ultimately number 1 among the interested parties.

Missed deadline

Below are two announcements, where in one "No" was answered at the interest deadline, and in the other no answer was given.

Be aware that whether you actively register "No" to an announcement or forget to respond, your answer is recorded as "No." After this, you will no longer receive updates about the announcement’s progress via email or your offer page, and you will not have the opportunity to respond at later deadlines.
